Air service expands to Washington, D.C.

CLARKSBURG Air service to Dulles International Airport, located outside of Washington, D.C., will be available from the North Central West Virginia Airport, beginning January 21st. Three daily flights will be offered to and from Dulles.
Alan Parks, president of the Benedum Airport Authority, said, We are excited that we have been able to arrange this important expansion of air service for the residents of our region. Our goal was to make our area accessible for business and leisure travelers.
Parks reiterated the convenience and accessibility of the North Central West Virginia Airport, emphasizing the quick check0ins, free accessible parking, convenient baggage claim, and free wireless Internet.
Ron Watson, president of the Harrison County Commission, calls the new schedule a terrific asset to the economic development of North Central West Virginia.
Joan Keith, marketing director for the North Central West Virginia Airport, notes we have so many people in government and the private sector who need to get to the Washington area regularly. This new service will provide the opportunity to get there and back easily.
Flights to Pittsburgh from Colgan Air will continue as US Airways Express service until January 21st. Colgan Air will continue serving the passengers of North Central West Virginia by operating as United Airlines Express for the service to Washingtons Dulles International Airport.
Both United Airlines and US Airways are Star Alliance members. All travelers who have acquired frequent flier miles through travel on US Airways are able to use their miles on United flights and continue to acquire incentives through the new air service.
Previously known as the Harrison-Marion Regional Airport, the North Central West Virginia Airport, located in Bridgeport, offers dining at the Aero Club Restaurant and Bar, located above the terminal. It is open for lunch and dinner and offers catering for special events.
